When many people have their first panic attack they immediately ask their doctor for medication. In some cases even at the emergency room patients are offered muscle relaxers and other medication. When it comes to anxiety, the medication on the market is questionable at best because the studies are difficult to follow. It is not easy to measure levels of anxiety and that's how the tell if something helped or not.
If you want to stop your anxiety yo need to follow 2 golden rules:
1. Thou Shalt Always do Breathing Exercises
When a panic attack strikes one of the biggest fear is of death.Once you realize that you are having panic attacks all the time you can relax and try to calm yourself down. To do this you can use the paper bag method for hyperventilation like you've probably seen on TV or you can exhale until there is no air left in your body, hold, breath air in, hold, and then breath normally.
2. Thou Shalt Always Eat Healthy Foods
Eating the right foods and staying away from bad habits can be a great help for anxiety. Always eat fruits, veggies, fish, and nuts. You have to drink plenty of water because it is the substance that does the most in your body and in the brain. Take in plenty of vitamin B and make sure your food contains enough magnesium and Omega 3. Avoid Coffee, chocolate, nicotine, and alcohol. Think about it, you already think your dying from anxiety, don't you think it will be worse if you put things in your body that can kill you?
These 2 rules will help you immensely, but you also need to visit a therapist or read a self help anxiety book in order to overcome the stress you are not dealing with.
